It’s time to let go of the expectations of what you should be and embrace the real you. You are Fine, Fierce, and Fun. However, sometimes society, people, and unrealistic expectations can get you buried under fear.
Let’s get to three quick ways to show up as your best, even when you are afraid.
Fine
When I say fine, I mean you are looking your best and feeling confident with everything on the outside and inside. Here are some quick ways to show off your fine self and feel empowered in your skin.
Skincare- You are wrapped in your skin from the crown of your head to your toe, so take care of it, cleanse it, and moisturize it. Get ready always to feel divine.
Clothes- Have you heard the saying, “If you look good, you feel good.” I’m here to say that is true, and science also backs this up. Joe Pinsker explains this phenomenon as ‘dressing up the brain,’ which implies that dressing nicer can change individual thought processes. To add to that, psychology professor Abraham Rutchick of California State University, Northridge, conducted a study that verified that “putting on formal clothes makes us feel powerful and that it changes the basic way we see the world.”
Hygiene- Taking care of your basic hygiene ensures you look good and feel good. It also helps to keep your physical health in check.
Fierce
When I say fierce, I mean bold steps and actions to accomplish your goals and dreams as you live your life unapologetically. We have all met that carefree person who follows the drum to their beat and lives on their terms. They are not concerned with what others think about their choices because they are more focused on their own decisions. We all have talents, gifts, and a vision of the life we want, but sometimes doubt, fear, and self-sabotage come in the way and squeeze the fierceness out of us. I implore you to take your power back and live fearless as you take risks to get the desired things.
Identify your fears and face them.
If you have a bucket list, start using it; if you don’t, create one.
Take a risk for the things you want, even if it’s a small, calculated bet on yourself.
Be afraid and still do the things you’ve always wanted to do.
Fun
It is all about enjoying yourself, the things that make you smile and feel great. When we were kids, play and fun were the centers of our world. However, as we get older, we’re made to believe that play is less essential and that we should only strive for accomplishments, financial security, and stability. Let’s all agree that even adults need to play, and it can be as simple as making sure we have fun on the weekend, on holiday, or just a spontaneous night out. For others, nothing is fun because they hustle hard until they accomplish their dreams. Our self-worth gets tied to how much we have accomplished and how much money we have accumulated, and then there is little regard for having fun and living. Here are some ways you can prioritize fun more consistently.
Tap into your creative side.
Cultivate solid and positive communities with friends, family, and acquaintances.
Make time weekly for your hobbies.
Be open to spontaneity and fun.
I hope you will step into the rest of your life feeling fine, being fierce, and having fun. Every day is a blank page of your life; you can write it in a way that makes you feel alive and present.
